Longwang Village is an old farming community in western China marked by popular religion, secular belief, hard labour and deep powerlessness. Rather than following a plot, the film observes the village through the changing seasons, recording work, ritual and ordinary routines without dramatic climax. It deliberately functions as an audiovisual archive of rural life stripped of explanatory rhetoric.
