Most LGBT people in mainland China remain closeted under pressure from family, friends and society. Through interviews with people who have come out, the documentary records discrimination, suppression and violence but also moments of understanding and family support, including the activism of mother Wu Youjian. Coming out emerges as both a personal risk and a demand for social recognition.
