In Maidichong, a remote Miao village in Yunnan, Christianity has been part of community life since missionary Samuel Pollard arrived in the early twentieth century and helped create a written Miao script. Hymns, memories and oral histories reveal how faith survived political campaigns, including the Cultural Revolution, and continues to shape collective identity.
