影片拍摄于2000至2004年间，横跨青藏高原、中国西南地区和北京，以实验纪录的方式观察不同环境中的女性：劳动、祈祷、嬉戏、恋爱和生活。石头通过这些日常片段，思考快速社会变迁、传统消失、老龄化、流动以及女性情感与性自主逐渐获得可见性的过程。
Filmed between 2000 and 2004 across the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, southwestern China and Beijing, this experimental documentary observes women working, praying, playing and loving in very different environments. Through fragments of everyday life, Shi Tou reflects on rapid social change, disappearing traditions, ageing, mobility and the growing visibility of women’s emotional and sexual autonomy.
