Filmed between 2009 and 2015 in southern China, the documentary follows labour-rights organizers helping factory workers confront underpayment, unsafe conditions and illegal dismissal. Activists and lawyers face surveillance, intimidation, arrest and violence as they try to use existing laws to defend workers whose labour underpins China’s export economy.
