诗人“竖”以“出差”的名义在新疆旅行四十天。他乘坐火车、汽车和卡车穿过辽阔景观，住廉价旅馆、进入饭馆和妓院，与陌生人相遇并写下十六首诗。影片拍摄于2002年，十多年后才完成，也因此成为一个地区和时代正在消失的忧郁记录。
A poet named Shu travels for forty days through Xinjiang on what he calls a ‘business trip.’ Moving by train, bus and truck through vast landscapes, cheap inns, restaurants and brothels, he encounters strangers and writes sixteen poems. Shot in 2002 and completed more than a decade later, the journey becomes a melancholy record of a region and a moment already disappearing.
