Along Shanghai’s prosperous Nanjing Road, a group of rural migrants survive by collecting and selling recyclable waste. Among them are eccentric poets, small-time traders and the vulnerable ‘Black Skin,’ whose trusting nature leaves him open to exploitation. Their lives unfold beside luxury shops and consumer crowds, exposing an invisible social world that exists in direct proximity to urban prosperity.
