1994年，克拉玛依友谊馆发生大火，数百人遇难，其中大多数是为到访官员演出的学生。多年后，徐辛让遇难者家长、教师和幸存者长时间讲述火灾、媒体审查以及无法公开悼念的经历，并穿插珍贵档案影像，使影片同时成为调查与纪念。
In 1994, a fire at Karamay’s Friendship Hall killed hundreds of people, most of them schoolchildren who had been performing for visiting officials. Years later, filmmaker Xu Xin records parents, teachers and survivors speaking at length about the disaster, censorship and their inability to mourn publicly. Rare archival footage and first-person testimony turn the film into both an investigation and an act of remembrance.
