Through local examples and extended conversations with farmers, the film examines land, agriculture and capital in contemporary rural China. Questions of land ownership, fairness, efficiency, belief and ecological change emerge from interviews with villagers, whose everyday language reveals how economic and political concepts are understood at the grassroots.
