Four brothers and their extended families live along the Fuchun River as their elderly mother suffers a stroke and dementia. Over the course of changing seasons, the family faces medical costs, debts, marriage plans, property questions and work pressures. The film unfolds like a landscape scroll, allowing family dramas and the transforming riverside city to flow alongside one another.
