王兵采访了夹边沟和明水劳教营的年迈幸存者。上世纪五十年代末至六十年代初，被打成“右派”的人被送到这些地方劳动改造。幸存者关于饥饿、疾病、死亡和求生的细致记忆，累积成一部长达八小时的政治迫害与集体苦难口述史。
Wang Bing interviews elderly survivors of the Jiabiangou and Mingshui labour camps, where people labelled Rightists were sent during the late 1950s and early 1960s. Their detailed memories of hunger, disease, death and survival accumulate into an eight-hour oral history of political persecution and mass suffering.
