Ten years after The Vagina Monologues was first staged in mainland China, Fan Popo revisits groups that adapted and performed the play on campuses, in theatres, cafés, streets and public transportation. Interviews with participants and current activists explore how speaking openly about women’s bodies became a process of feminist self-awareness, public discussion and localization.
