黑龙江林区因环保政策和伐木业衰落，大量男性失去工作，许多女性则流向城市，于是形成了被称为“光棍山”的单身男性群体。影片跟随失业伐木工三梁子，记录他对年轻女子梅子的执着感情，以及贫困、孤独和城乡变化如何塑造这里的亲密关系。
In the forests of Heilongjiang, environmental restrictions and the decline of logging have left many men without work, while women have increasingly moved to cities. The resulting ‘bachelor mountain’ is populated by lonely, poor single men. The film follows former logger San Liangzi and his persistent, tender devotion to Meizi, a younger woman whose family runs a local inn.
