影片追踪年轻女教师黄静死亡案，以及她的母亲多年寻找司法真相的过程。黄静死后先后经历多次尸检和鉴定，却不断出现互相矛盾的结论。艾晓明与胡杰记录母亲的哀痛、诉讼、媒体求助和持续抗争，并借案件讨论性暴力、法医制度、司法公正以及中国女性权利行动的早期发展。
The film follows the case of Huang Jing, a young teacher found dead after sexual violence, and her mother’s years-long effort to obtain a credible legal explanation. Five autopsies and repeated investigations produced conflicting conclusions. Ai Xiaoming and Hu Jie document the mother’s mourning, litigation, media advocacy and resistance, using the case to examine sexual violence, forensic practice, judicial accountability and the emergence of women’s-rights activism in China.
