Mendesong dreams of directing a film about the legendary hero Wu Song according to his own artistic vision. When an opportunity finally arrives, the production is quickly overwhelmed by clashes among ambition, money, personalities and the practical compromises of filmmaking. Using dark humour, the story turns a chaotic film set into a satire on the distance between idealism and reality.
