影片梗概｜Synopsis

珠江三角洲的厚街在香港、台湾资本和大量外来劳动力推动下，从农业小镇迅速变成劳动密集型工业城镇。影片把镜头放在工厂附近狭小出租屋里的农民工身上，记录“9·11”之后订单减少带来的失业风险，也记录出生、暴力、爱情以及他们远离家乡后试图建立临时生活的日常。

Houjie, near Guangzhou in the Pearl River Delta, was transformed from an agricultural town into a labour-intensive manufacturing centre by Hong Kong and Taiwanese investment and a huge migrant workforce. The documentary stays close to migrant workers living in cramped rented rooms near the factories, recording precarious work, unemployment after the post-9/11 slowdown, births, violence and everyday attempts to build a temporary home far from their villages.
