At a sulphur-iron mining settlement near the borders of Sichuan, Yunnan and Guizhou, the filmmakers encounter a boy named Tan Cong, his family, a local teacher and workers who smelt sulphur using old methods. The documentary observes everyday life in a remote industrial valley shaped by mining, pollution and difficult working conditions.
