In the Three Gorges region, a young couple live on opposite sides of the Yangtze as their homes face demolition for the dam project. Their private relationship unfolds inside a landscape about to be physically transformed, allowing the film to connect intimate uncertainty with the massive displacement and irreversible change produced by the Three Gorges construction.
