Using surviving posters, personal testimony and historical research, Hu Jie examines the visual propaganda that saturated public life during the Cultural Revolution. The film considers how images of leaders, model workers, enemies and revolutionary ideals were produced and circulated, and how propaganda aesthetics helped shape collective behaviour and memory.
