徐星采访了一批在文化大革命期间被以“反革命”罪名判刑的农村人。相比长期以来主要围绕城市干部和知识分子的历史叙事，这些证词揭示政治运动如何深入乡村，并永久改变普通农民的人生，而他们几十年来几乎没有机会讲述自己的经历。
Xu Xing interviews rural people who were convicted as ‘counterrevolutionaries’ during the Cultural Revolution. While much historical memory focuses on officials and intellectuals in cities, these testimonies reveal how political campaigns reached villages and permanently altered the lives of ordinary peasants who for decades had little opportunity to speak about their experiences.
