Ten LGBT activists of different ages, genders and backgrounds describe their work and the changing conditions of queer life in China. Bars and websites have created new meeting spaces, but the film argues that visibility alone does not equal civil rights. Their stories map the early formation of a queer civil society and the long work still required for equality.
