The sixth film in Zhang Mengqi’s ’47 KM’ series centres on two women of different generations in the village. An elderly woman recalls poverty, childbirth and raising seven children, while a younger woman talks about school, work and her boyfriend. Their stories make women’s bodily experience, labour and generational memory central to the village’s history.
