梗概 / Synopsis
外祖母 Guián 离世后，妮可决定第一次前往中国，寻找 Guián 移民哥斯达黎加前留下的房子。这是一次试图回答她从未能够问出口的问题的旅程：妮可从未学过中文，而祖母也从未学过西班牙语。
After grandma Guián passes away, Nicole decides to go to China for the first time to look for the house Guián left when she emigrated to Costa Rica. This is a journey to answer the questions she was never able to ask Guián because she never learned Chinese, and her grandma never learned Spanish.
导演阐述 / Director’s Statement
导演选择描绘自己的家庭，希望呈现哥斯达黎加华人社群不止于刻板印象的面貌。她想为这个在拉丁美洲常被忽视的移民社群打开一扇窗口，也借由其特殊性触及与未知过去连接、寻找塑造身份之根源的普遍故事。这是一部关于不忘记、也不允许被遗忘的电影。
In Guián, I decided to portray my own family to present more dimensions than the stereotypes my community is known for in Costa Rica. My goal was to create a window to see what immigration looks like for a community widely invisible in Latin America. This is a film about not forgetting, or not allowing to forget.

Nicole Chi 是哥斯达黎加华裔编剧及导演。其作品曾入选特柳赖德电影节、SXSW 与 Visions du Réel，并获美国导演工会学生电影杰出导演成就奖、摩纳哥格蕾丝王妃电影新兴艺术家奖等肯定。
